Realistic Fiction Story

Unit overview:

In this unit I studied and practiced the process of planning and drafting a piece of realistic fiction. I brainstormed story ideas, and practiced writing techniques in my Writer’s Notebook, such as writing effective dialogue, using elaboration, crafting strong leads and conclusions, etc. My final product was a published Realistic Fiction story.

Areas of Strength:

Key Ideas and Details:

Recall and summarize the key ideas and important details from the text. I think I'm not really good at this because  I don't really like to summarize.

Areas For Improvement:

Integration of Knowledge and Ideas:

Analyze how a modern work of fiction relates to themes, ideas, characters, and events from your life, the world, and other literature. I think I'm not really good at this because I did connections once and it was hard for me because I didn't know how I can connect it to my life.

Questions:

What are the elements that make a story realistic fiction?

It doesn't include aliens and stuff.

What are the steps I should follow when writing a story?

I must have a plan and a plot.
